Liberation Concert – Best

Best was liberated on 24 October 1944 by the Allies, in particular the Scottish 15th Infantry Division and the 51st Highland Division. This liberation took place after a period of fierce fighting, from 17 September to 24 October, in which a large number of British soldiers were killed. There is a Scottish monument in Best in memory of the fallen soldiers.
